NourishThrive offers nutrition services using the principals of functional medicine. Functional medicine is a patient-centered approach focused on the root cause of health issues that uncovers the underlying imbalances, not just symptoms. This holistic, whole person approach is based on your individual needs and recognizes that no two people are the same.
Functional nutritionists take the time to listen to your story and to learn about your history so they can connect the dots between your genetics, lifestyle, social, and environmental factors that have impacted your current health. I use a whole foods approach and strongly believe in using food as medicine. I also include supplements, botanicals, mind-body medicine, stress-reduction techniques, and exercise/movement in my nutrition and lifestyle plans.
My specialties include:

This complimentary phone session is an opportunity for us to briefly review your medical history and health goals and for you to ask me any questions you may have about how we will be working together. It’s important to me that you choose someone you feel comfortable working with and I want to ensure that you are ready and open to making the lifestyle changes necessary to achieve your optimal wellness. This is a therapeutic partnership that requires the client to be actively involved in restoring and maintaining their health.
During the initial intake session we will spend 75-90 minutes reviewing your intake forms, health history, current health concerns, as well as any previous lab work. We will also assess your eating habits and other important lifestyle factors such as sleep, stress, exercise, and relationships. After hearing your unique story we will discuss your health goals and I will provide you with next steps including nutrition and lifestyle recommendations.
During follow up sessions we will assess your progress, discuss any challenges or concerns that you have, and make revisions to the nutrition and lifestyle plan as needed. Making lifestyle changes can sometimes be overwhelming so I am there to support you during this journey by providing guidance, answering questions, or providing recipe and meal planning ideas. I may also recommend additional lab testing in order to determine the root cause of symptoms you may be continuing to experience. Follow up sessions are between 45-60 minutes.
